History of Old racing club

The story of Dvur Kralove track begins after the World War II. At that time many town tracks appeared. At those times very often the low quality road surface tested the abilities of the drivers and hid the differences between machine performances. At all those tracks the drivers from Dvur Kralove nad Labem appeared and traditionally they achieved good scores. Those drivers however wanted to show their abilities at home as well.

In the year 1952 the decision came and in spite of many difficulties the first speed race named Kralovedvorsky was run. The audience turnout was large and the track was lined with thick crowds of spectators. A track record was set in that year of 89.8 km/hour. Even though the standard was improving each year the magic border of 100 km/hour wasn't passed until in the year of 1956. The last race was run in the year 1961, with the participation of the then Czechoslovak top drivers and at that time a record speed of 109 km/hour was set.

Today it is of little use to show the score sheets anymore. The names of the drivers who drove at those races, might be more interesting for the fans of this sport, for instance: Jenicek, Vavrusa, Pluhar, Kaba, Melc, Palicka, Cada, Helikar, Srna, Schiffauer, Novosad, Krocka, Parus, Bojer and others, and locals Frantisek Zizka, Kudrnac, Saitl, Rain, Libersky, Viteznik, Klouda, Vohnout, Machek and Voltr.

Since the year 1955 motorcycles with sidecars have participated in the races at the Dvur Kralove track (Suva - Budinsky, Saroch - Mosna, Vyskocil - Fabian and others), in the years 1957 and 1958 cars up to 750 cc participated as well. The drivers Kafka and Budicek from Hradec Kralove won in this category.

An attempt to continue in this tradition was realized in the year 1997 and a lot of the former participants took part in the reopening of the track both as spectators and as drivers. We hope that the tradition will be renewed completely and that all fans of motor sport can continue to enjoy the heavenly music of roaring exhausts and the heady scent of burnt gasoline.
